Do you have any Grey Poupon?
12 03 2007We felt like asking each other this on our bus trip from Puerto Iguazu to Buenos Aires. We sprung the extra 20 pesos ($7) per person to get ’suites’ on the bus. A suite is a fully reclining seat, with pillow and blanket, and the more than adequate dinner service includes your choice of wine or beer, followed by dessert and champagne. These beverages are served in glasses. No plastic, paper, or styrofoam - glass. One of which was a proper champagne flute.
So now we’re in Buenos Aires (BA). We are searching the town to find a place with a DVD+RW burner because now I’m in the big leagues as far as photo file size. I now have 3.3 GB of photo/movie data and that would be 5 or 6 CD-Rs.
We are mailing a few things home also, mostly the two hammocks we’ve been lugging around with us since the Amazon boat trips (and we can’t bear to give away), and my board shorts that, sadly, never touched a surfboard this trip.
BA is truly the land of milk and honey. Near our humble hotel we have so far discovered 4 bakery/confection shops. There are pastries and chocolates of every shape, size, color, and filling. This morning I had a garlic and cheese Bastoncito (like a croissant, but firmer). Yum!

Hey Steve-
Love reading about your wanderings. Maybe when you get back, you can take my job at Microtune for awhile while Sheryl and I go do the same thing…
Careful of the prairie dogs in Boulder though - they may not have rabies, but they do have the plague. Have a nice tour.
Cheers,
Stefan
Hi Neenan and Meggie Pie!
Your entries really crack me up! The coatis with rabies reminds me of the David Sedaris tape about the warnings we are so used to in the U.S……”bronze statue may be hot”…..”canon blast may be loud”…etc. I hope you didn’t get too close to the coatis after such a warning, but I hope you had a good tour!! And such luxury on a bus ride…..oh là là!
It’s so good to hear from you!
Love y’all,
Mom (to be)
I just had a chance to look at the photos on your site. Very nice. I’m into it. It sounds like you guys are really having an great trip.
Matt and I are in China and settling in… if you have a chance which is sounds like you might not… but if you do check out our website as well

Cheers to you both.

PS the food there sounds sooo good. We are starting to max out on rice, noodles, soup, meat and vegetables. Some of the fruit on the street seems like it would be okay, but why are they selling it next to the exhaust pipe of the local bus? hmmm.
Stefan- sounds good. Gotta leave me all the DSP books though and clear it w/ Dave & Tom… we can give you some itinerary pointers for down here.
Mom- the champagne was icing on the cake after a more-than ample dinner for people who are doing nothing but sitting on their butts and watching American DVDs for hours on end on the bus.
Marian- website looks good. I see that Matt has been keeping up diplomatic relations with his statue poses (Get Up). Reminds me of the Christmas card that used to be on my fridge. When I used to have a house, that is. I hope you are overall having a good time. Love the bobbledog pages. Keep it up!
