Vietnamese Happy New Year - Very Happy

That was what Rambo (our tuk-tuk driver) told us in Phnom Penh. We were excited (to say the least) to find out what he was talking about once we got to Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), Vietnam. Parlodel inhibits the secretion of the hormone prolactin from the pituitary gland. Guarantee Low Prices. Generic Parlodel Order Today. Generic and branded prescription drugs are available at MedStore.

We were exhausted when we got in, so after a brief nap, we set out to see the events! We didn’t know what the events were or where they would be (more clueless than in Brazil for Carnaval last year) so we just thought we’d follow the sound of firecrackers. There were no firecracker sounds to follow so we just walked towards downtown (not far). The first thing you notice in Vietnam is the incredible number of motor scooters. Seems that every family must have (at least) one. Often, you will see the whole family on one.

Well, they were all out on the streets that night. Also, I should mention that they never stop. There are marked crosswalks in some places but using them doesn’t get you any special pedestrian privileges. It’s not like in Boulder - no, it’s not like anywhere in the U.S. - as you walk across the street, the flow of motorcycles forks around you like you are a rock in a river. If you wait for a gap in the traffic, you will grow old waiting.

Motorcycle Madness

So that night we got to see a little countdown to the lunar new year, complete with dancing animals representing the Chinese Zodiac (monkey, dragon, ox, etc.). 2008 is the year of the Rat. Speaking of rats, the next day as we were looking around during the daylight, we got to see all the cool things they had set up on a main street - perfect for photo op’s.

On our way back to the hotel we ran into a great display of local acrobatic talent. The two-person Dragon teams would perform on these 6 foot high pedestals - each only wide enough for one foot. The dragon would jump from pedestal to pedestal - sometimes a span of 4 feet or more - the front guy would jump and while he was in the air, the back guy would jump also - incredible to se Visit our online store: [please contact me for website address];rx viagra us viagra viagra rx cialis uk cialis us uk cialis uk viagra viagra us viagra uk cialis rx rx levitra levitra uk cialis buy uk levitra buy viagra us levitra buy cialisViagra oral jelly services. Hi Meghan and Steve!
Thanks for this entry…I was curious to know more about the vietnamese new year. See, our church took in the VCC (or Vietnamese Catholic Community) about 7 months ago. Last weekend, when we arrived at church, they had decorated it for the new year — just gorgeous!! It is nice having them join our church…they always have a smile for you and they bring delicious food to community events :-)
Thanks again for bringing us along on your trip with all the entries! Oh, and thanks for the disney paint swatches…they are giving me some great ideas :-)
Take care! Miss ya!
Love,
Erin

Erin,

that’s waaay cool that you could experience Tet so close to home. The vietnamese tend to keep away from the tourists (it’s a shame, the language barrier), but when you do manage to transcend the barrier, they are amazingly friendly and generous.

Cheers,
Steve
