Using the internet in these parts of the world is painfully slow and unpredictable. It’s like sharing a 14,400 baud dialup connection with 12 other people - and someone keeps picking up the phone in the other room. It really gets to me when I’ve spent 20 minutes typing/editing an entry and I hit submit but the page times out and my data is lost. We have now trained ourselves to copy all the text from emails/posts right before we hit the submit button.

I suppose I should be happy that there is any Internet connection whatsoever. You can’t even drive to Iquitos if you wanted to. Boat or Plane access only!
