I think I've been there guys! It sounds like Ft. Lauderdale after Wilma and 11 days without power. I learned that, if I was really careful, I could wash my hair using only one gallon of water (bottled, of course, obtained from the national armory after a couple of hours in line). So, over that 11-day period, I only washed it twice...lovely. And forget the bath. I used Jaeden's baby wipes for infrequent "sponge" baths. And, don't forget, Spanish is the language of my apartment complex, so there weren't those luxuriously long (no one's office is open) conversations with friends. Oh well, I know you guys are having a great adventure and I can't wait to hear what Carnival is like in person. Maybe the chicken story is why so many people who travel outside the country speak so highly of their "picnics" of a loaf of good bread, cheese and wine! To vino and buena suerte on the next leg of your trip.

Neenan and Meggie...
I am so relieved to finally hear what you've been up to, so even though the boat experience sounds pretty exhausting, I'm glad you are safe and sound. Since I don't know about your itinerary, I wasn't sure why there hadn't been any messages in several days, though I do try not to worry. I hope your stay in Iquitos will make up for the boat ride! Get some sleep, good food and a shower, if possible. I look forward to the next installment of your adventures!

Glad you're enjoying your trip. It was good to see you two, if only briefly, a few weeks ago. We're on the other end of the spectrum: Addie refuses to take a bottle, and we can't even manage to travel to the movie theater.
